2011 proved to be a tremendous year for the George Martin Group! With continued growth and changes, the group is on track for a phenomenal 2012 with new promotions, specials and menu additions.
We made some early changes in 2011 with the selling of Nicks Tuscan Grille in the spring and then Grillfire Long Beach in the fall. We wish the new owners great success and prosperity with Grillfire and would like to thank all of our Long Beach friends for their patronage and loyalty. Don’t forget to visit our existing George Martin Grillfire locations in Merrick and Rockville Centre!
Although we sold Grillfire Long Beach, we welcomed a new Grillfire location in Hanover, Maryland. This is the first location out of state for the George Martin Group. Hanover, Maryland is right outside Baltimore in the Baltimore-Washington Metropolitan Area. Since 2000, the area has seen explosive growth with shopping centers and housing developments, making it an ideal location for the George Martin Group to expand into. The new Grillfire location combines the energy of a public gathering space with casual comfort for its guests, serving hot and cold breakfast, lunch and dinner as well as happy hour specials and private party accommodations. We are very excited to watch the George Martin Group expand in the South!
Grillfire Merrick and Rockville Centre continue to be a popular spot for local young adults, families and friends looking for a great night out. The American Grill locations boast an energetic setting as well as a price friendly, casual menu – appealing to the masses. Every night of the week, Grillfire has something to offer to their customers. Monday night features Monday Night Meal Deals for $16.95 for a 3 course meal; Tuesday’s host Karaoke in the lounge and psychic readings; Wednesday’s are ladies night with a three course meal and $5 refills; Thursday’s are currently home to guest bartenders competing to win a prize for the biggest turn out as well as live music; Friday and Saturday nights feature daily food and drink specials and Saturday and Sunday are home to the all American brunch! With something going on every day of the week, there’s no question as to why Grillfire has become a local household name! 
Strip Steak, our intimate steakhouse located near the Great South Bay, just celebrated its 1st Anniversary on January 6th! It has been such a great inaugural year for Strip Steak, with pronounced reviews from The New York Times, Newsday and local-well respected critics; successful promotions including 20/20 Mondays, 3 Course Signature Dinner’s every Sunday through Wednesday, and the 3 Course Price Fix Dinner for $28.95 on Thursday nights; and a great partnership with local wineries for $14 bottomless pour dinners. Last but not least on the accolade list, Strip Steak was voted in the Top 10 New Restaurants on Long Island in 2011. This wouldn’t be possible without our dedicated employees and loyal customers, so thank you! 
George Martin The Original, a Rockville Centre mainstay, is running into its 23rd year in business! 2011 was another successful year, mainly in part to a very supportive neighborhood! George Martin The Original gave back to the community this holiday season with the 50% off gift certificate sale on Black Friday. We look forward to hosting you and your guests as they redeem their gift certificates. The Original continues to reach new levels of quality and service, with Wine Dinners and Beer Tastings planned for 2012 in our private room, in addition to Wine Down Wednesdays, $5 @ 5 Happy Hour and daily specials. Although a great and prosperous year for the George Martin Group, we also suffered a great loss this fall. Our dearest friend and respected Executive Chef of Nick’s Tuscan Grille, Charlie Dean lost his fight to pancreatic cancer, leaving behind his wife and four children. We miss him so much every day, and continue to keep him and his family in our thoughts and wishes.
