The Quicksilver Pro featured a $1 million dollar prize purse and is the sixth stop on the Association of Surfing Professionals 2011 World Tour, which started in Australia and makes other stops in Hawaii and Brazil.
Parking is going to be difficult - on a regular day, when the pro’s aren’t in town it’s next to impossible to park! Long Beach will have resident only parking areas between Magnolia Boulevard and Monroe Boulevard. There will be NO EVENT PARKING in Long Beach during the competition.
You can park at Jones Beach in the West End at Parking Field #2. A shuttle bus service will take you to and from the festival and SurfZone everyday of the competition.
Coming from out of town? The Long Island Railroad (LIRR) will take you directly to Long Beach station, which is a short 6 minute walk to the beach.
The Long Island Bus services also provides transportation into Long Beach. Schedules for both are available at Long Beach Buses and Long Beach Trains.
Its free to watch the surfing competition and to attend the festival. Don’t forget to stop into George Martin’s Grillfire Long Beach for a cocktail, beer, appetizer or three course meal. “Check-In” on Foursquare, show a manager, and receive a free appeteizer or cocktail!
