The George Martin Group has been established since 1989 with the opening of our first restaurant, George Martin the Original. The George Martin Group has always been focused on creating a unique restaurant experience for all of our customers. In this article we will give a descriptive overview of each George Martin Group location.
George Martin the Original opened in Rockville Centre in 1989 and promptly received two stars from the New York Times and LI Newsday. George Martin the Original is consistently listed among the top 40 most popular Long Island restaurants in Zagat. In early 2007, after eighteen years in business, George Martin underwent a design renovation. In December of 2007, Joanne Starkey of The New York Times awarded George Martin the original three stars.
In 2006, after a successful nine year run as Max’s Grille & Tavern, the George Martin Group made the decision to reinvent the restaurant as George Martin’s Grillfire. This transformation involved a major renovation of the space, as well as the creation of an innovative new menu. In addition to very tasty appetizers, Grillfire presents a creative burger menu including Kobe beef, turkey burgers and a 'prime-cut' veggie burger. We also offer a wide variety of salads and sandwiches as well as flat iron, top sirloin and rib eye steaks (priced under $20), select seafood dishes and some old George Martin favorites.
After the renovation of the George Martin Grillfire in Rockville Centre, the George Martin Group decided to grow the brand by converting Nick DiAngelo in Merrick over to Grillfire. According to LI Newsday, “This burger-centric grill shows sharpness on the part of the George Martin Restaurant Group. The Grillfire Merrick is friendly, bustling, affordable — a magnet for the family crowd. Even on a weeknight, this stylish place fills up early. George Martin Grillfire Long Beach location opened due to the great popularity of Grillfire in Rockville Centre and Merrick. George Martin Grillfire Long Beach is known for its reasonable pricing and wide menu of classic American food. The wine selection goes beyond red and white as we offer a diverse wine list.
